Planting Seeds of Positivity for a Brighter Future

Lessons from Pete the Pony is more than a book series — it’s a movement to plant seeds of positivity, kindness, and resilience in young hearts. Our mission is to help prevent the growing mental health crisis by reaching children early, teaching them strong values, confidence, and emotional awareness through stories that inspire.

Through the fun and educational adventures of Pete and his friends, children learn life lessons in a way that feels natural, joyful, and full of heart. Each story reminds kids that kindness matters, gratitude grows, and courage starts from within.

About the author

Nikki Glandon is an international best-selling author, Illustrator and author of Lessons from Pete the Pony, founder of Planting Seeds Co. and lives life with a child-like heart. She loves learning from and teaching with horses, storytelling, and empowering our youth to live a positive life.

Nikki holds a certification in Equine Assisted Learning and a Psychology Degree from Eastern Kentucky University and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Equine Science and Behavior. She believes stories are a wonderful way to inspire kids and adults to live with love, respect, and gratitude. The inspiration for Pete the Pony began years ago while Nikki was waiting tables. After seeing so many kids with little manners, she would often joke, “One day I’m going to write a children’s book about it.” The truth is, even while it started as a joke, Nikki always believed we can help plant better seeds in all of us, so that when life’s challenges come, we have the emotional skills to navigate them, and she knows that begins young. One day, God gave her the idea, and she wrote the very first Pete story sitting in her truck by the lake. Now, ten books later and hundreds of hearts touched, Pete’s mission remains the same, to plant seeds of kindness, gratitude, and courage in every child’s heart. Go Pete, Go! 🐴✨
